Developed in 1950 by researchers at the University of Massachusetts in Waltham, MA, this variety is ideal for cool climates and produces medium sized, green heads with long stalks.
For early crop start seeds indoors in pots or flats 6-8 weeks before setting out. For later crop start seeds outdoors in a warm and sunny location after last frost. Sow fall crop 10-12 weeks before fall frost date. Loosen soil with a spade or fork, fertilize with vegetable food and water thoroughly. Firm soil over seed. Water regularly, feed every 4 weeks and protect from insects. Cut 6 in./15 cm. below central head when buds are still tight.
