The Maplewood Kitchen project epitomizes a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal, achieved through a full kitchen tear-out and upgrade. This transformation began with the meticulous restoration of the original fir floors, which were unearthed beneath multiple layers of vinyl, adhesive, and linoleum. The revival of these beautiful hardwood floors not only brought warmth and character to the space but also highlighted the kitchen's rich history, creating a stunning foundation for the new design. In reimagining the kitchen layout, we strategically relocated the swing back door, allowing for the refrigerator to find a new home in a more accessible position. This thoughtful adjustment enhanced the flow of the kitchen, promoting ease of movement and usability for families and guests alike. The new placement of appliances was carefully considered to optimize both efficiency and visual appeal, ensuring that every element worked in unison to create a cohesive environment. A striking feature of the Maplewood Kitchen is the innovative repurposing of an exterior window that once led to a porch. This window was transformed into a charming display cabinet, perfect for showcasing decorative glassware and cherished kitchen items. The cabinet not only serves as a functional storage solution but also adds a unique focal point, drawing the eye and inviting conversation. Throughout the project, our commitment to craftsmanship and quality materials remained paramount. We selected finishes and fixtures that complemented the historical aspects of the home while incorporating modern conveniences.
