About This Project

The Deck with Cedar Pergola project in Amarillo, TX, transformed a previously underutilized outdoor space into an inviting and functional area for entertaining and relaxation. Our client sought to revitalize her small, dark rear patio, which lacked the comfort and aesthetics necessary for enjoyable gatherings. Understanding her vision, we designed a solution that would not only enhance the space but also create a warm ambiance for socializing and dining. To achieve this, we constructed a robust pressure-treated framework directly over the existing concrete patio, ensuring a solid and lasting foundation. This innovative approach allowed us to maximize the available area while minimizing disruption to the existing landscape. On top of this framework, we installed high-quality Trex decking, chosen for its durability and low maintenance, which blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings and adds a contemporary touch to the traditional design. A striking feature of the project is the elegant cedar pergola, which we extended over the deck to provide a stunning architectural element. The choice of cedar not only offers a beautiful natural finish but also allows for ample sunlight to filter through, enhancing the overall openness of the space. To elevate the functionality of the deck, we incorporated lighted ceiling fans strategically placed within the pergola, ensuring comfort during warm evenings. Additionally, lanterns mounted on the pergola columns create a cozy atmosphere, making the space equally appealing for nighttime gatherings.
