The 1940s Kitchen Remodel in Whitefish Bay transformed a dated and cramped kitchen into a modern culinary haven that seamlessly blends functionality with style. Recognizing the limitations posed by the original 1947 design, the homeowners enlisted the Advantage team to breathe new life into the space. Upon assessing the kitchen, our team identified the potential for a more open and inviting layout that maximized usability and aesthetics. The remodel began with the strategic repositioning of major appliances, which significantly enhanced workflow and efficiency. By removing the unnecessary wall that enclosed the kitchen area, we created a sense of openness that not only connected the kitchen to the dining room but also provided ample wall space for cabinetry and countertops. This decision allowed for the installation of a new stainless steel gas range and increased counter space that is perfect for meal preparation and entertaining. Additionally, the previous storage closet, which was awkwardly deep and underutilized, was creatively repurposed. It became an integral part of the kitchen's design, offering both storage solutions and enhancing the overall flow of the space. The inclusion of a peninsula not only serves as a functional workstation but also features an elevated cap wall, ideal for serving and casual dining. Materials chosen for the remodel were carefully selected to maintain a transitional aesthetic while introducing contemporary elements. The medium tone wood cabinets provide warmth and character, complemented by sleek granite countertops that add sophistication.
