The Mockingbird Kitchen project transformed a small, outdated kitchen into a vibrant culinary space that seamlessly integrates with the adjacent living and dining areas. The new owners of this contemporary home sought to modernize their kitchen while enhancing the overall functionality and aesthetic appeal of their living environment. Collaborating closely with Redsmith Construction, we embarked on an ambitious renovation that involved removing a corner wall that previously divided the kitchen from the expansive living area. This critical structural change was supported by a carefully engineered beam extending to the outside wall, ensuring safety and stability while creating an open and airy atmosphere. The design choices for the Mockingbird Kitchen were driven by a desire for boldness and vibrancy. The new color palette features striking shades of red and gray, which not only invigorate the space but also complement the contemporary architectural style of the home. A spacious peninsula serves as the centerpiece of the kitchen, providing ample workspace for meal preparation and casual dining. This peninsula is thoughtfully designed to facilitate conversation and interaction, making it an ideal gathering spot for family and friends.
