The Cottage Porch project was conceived to enhance the entryway of a charming west-side cottage, transforming it into a welcoming and functional space for relaxation and social gatherings. The client's vision for a covered porch as the heart of summer activities inspired a design that perfectly marries aesthetic appeal with practicality. Drawing on classic "Cottage" detailing, we aimed to elevate the curb appeal while creating a cozy atmosphere for enjoying the warm Hood River evenings. The design process involved careful consideration of the porch’s structure and layout. We chose a gabled roof to provide ample coverage, allowing for comfortable outdoor lounging regardless of the weather. The use of natural wood finishes not only complements the cottage's existing architecture but also adds warmth and character to the exteri. Our skilled craftsmen meticulously selected high-quality materials, ensuring durability and longevity while maintaining a rustic charm that is synonymous with cottage design. To further enhance the visual appeal, we incorporated decorative elements such as exposed beams and custom railings that echo traditional Craftsman style, harmonizing with the overall aesthetic of the home. The porch is spacious enough to accommodate outdoor furniture, making it the perfect gathering spot for family and friends.
