GABLE HILL is a remarkable transformation of a once-abandoned structure into a stunning modern family home, seamlessly blending contemporary comforts with vintage charm. Originally built in the early 1900s, the Queen Anne-style house met an untimely demise when a tree toppled it in 2008. The remnants of this historic dwelling caught the attention of Balustrade Properties, led by Carl Mattison, who envisioned a revitalized space that honored its predecessors while catering to modern living demands. The project began with a thorough assessment of the existing structure, which was primarily a shell of framing and deteriorating exterior plywood. Despite its state, the underlying floor plan offered a solid foundation on which to build. Careful consideration was given to the home’s design choices, focusing on enhancing its vintage appeal while incorporating contemporary materials and features. The layout was skillfully reimagined to include five spacious bedrooms and four well-appointed bathrooms, accommodating the needs of a growing family. The exterior of GABLE HILL showcases a harmonious blend of traditional architectural elements with modern finishes. The façade features carefully chosen materials that echo the legacy of the original home, while energy-efficient windows and a new roof ensure longevity and sustainability. Inside, the craftsmanship shines through with custom cabinetry, elegant fixtures, and an open-concept living area that invites natural light, creating an airy and welcoming atmosphere. Key elements of the design, such as the intricate moldings and vintage-inspired lighting, pay homage to the home’s history, providing a sense of continuity with the past.
