Slabtown Charm is a stunning first-floor remodel that beautifully marries functionality with modern design, located in the picturesque Slabtown neighborhood of Traverse City. Collaborating with esteemed designer Rebecca Whitehead of Rebecca Whitehead Interiors and seasoned contractor Jim from Salisbury and May Construction, this project has transformed a traditional space into a contemporary haven. The extensive renovation involved a complete kitchen tear-out, where we leveled the floors and eliminated several walls to create an open and airy layout. These structural changes not only enhanced the flow of the home but also allowed for the removal of old windows and a patio door, making way for a more harmonious indoor-outdoor experience. The centerpiece of the new design is a graceful L-shaped kitchen, which incorporates a spacious island that serves as both a functional workspace and a gathering spot for family and friends. The choice of materials reflects a modern aesthetic, with sleek cabinetry and high-end finishes that exude sophistication while maintaining a warm, inviting atmosphere. The dining room, seamlessly integrated with the kitchen, showcases a minimalist design that emphasizes clean lines and a cohesive color palette, creating a serene space ideal for entertaining or quiet family meals.
