The Biscay Remodel transformed a dated and uninspiring kitchen and master bath into stunning, functional spaces that reflect modern design sensibilities while meeting the client's aesthetic preferences. The clients initiated the project with a clear vision but sought our expertise to navigate the complexities of a remodel. They took on the demolition work themselves, allowing for budget flexibility, which set the stage for a creative reinvention of their home. The kitchen was the focal point of the remodel, moving away from its previous dark and dingy atmosphere. We began with the selection of striking black slate flooring, which served as a perfect foundation for the design. Retaining the existing granite countertops offered continuity, while we introduced a two-toned cabinetry concept that provided a dramatic contrast, enhancing the overall visual appeal of the space. The soft limestone backsplash was chosen to seamlessly tie the elements together, creating a cohesive look that balances elegance with functionality. In the master bath, we undertook a complete renovation, preserving the existing mirror that the client cherished. This allowed us to focus on maximizing the space's utility and comfort. We opted for a spacious tub/shower combination that enhances relaxation and modern living. The selection of materials was carefully curated to create an eclectic yet harmonious aesthetic, with attention to detail in every element of craftsmanship. The outcome of the Biscay Remodel is a beautifully executed transformation that not only meets the practical needs of the clients but also reflects their personal style. The project, completed in 2015 with a budget ranging from $50,001 to $75,000, showcases the potential of thoughtful design and skilled execution in elevating a home to new heights, making it a true centerpiece of their living experience.
