About This Project

East End Residence by Hudson Berkshire LLC Situated within the stunning setting of Amenia, the East End Residence is another example of Hudson Berkshire LLC's design and build expertise, while providing landscape construction services to the Hudson Valley, including Bangall, Millbrook, and Rhinebeck. This was a that focused on creating a pleasing and functional outdoor environment that would act as a strong counterpoint to the residence, while enhancing its natural setting. The started with an in-depth assessment of the site to accommodate the unique topography and drainage issues. Our design team provided a thorough site analysis that resulted in a tiered garden featuring native plantings that not only withstand the local climate but will also promote biodiversity. The design included a native plant palette of sustainable perennials, ornamental grasses, and evergreen shrubs to provide year-round interest. The custom stone patio was made from locally sourced bluestone, which complemented the home’s exterior and created a focal point for outdoor gatherings. Our masons worked diligently to overcome the challenge of an unsavory pitch and completed the with an elegant transition of the patio to the surrounding landscape. Additionally, to increase privacy and create a retreat, we installed a living fence of flowering vines, supplemented with additional trees carefully located to provide both privacy and a buffer from neighboring homes. Finally, we incorporated a drip irrigation system to ensure that any and all plantings would receive adequate water but were also in alignment with our goal of being responsible stewards of the environment. The finished result of the East End Residence was impressive, a marriage of beauty and function. The client was very pleased with their upgraded outdoor space, allowing for a space of leisure, relaxation, and entertainment.
