About This Project

This project transformed a West Palm Beach residence from a traditional and formal aesthetic to a more relaxed and inviting transitional casual elegance, all while respecting the home’s architectural integrity. The original design featured rich dark woods and elaborate tapestry textures that conveyed a sense of formality, which was no longer in alignment with the homeowners' vision for a lighter, more contemporary living space. Our goal was to retain the exquisite millwork and artistic painted walls that characterized the home, while introducing a fresh palette and modern materials. The transformation began with a careful selection of integrated woods that replaced the darker finishes. Lighter, cooler fabrics were introduced throughout the home, providing a serene ambiance that complements the existing architectural elements. The color scheme was thoughtfully curated, focusing on soft neutrals and subtle contrasts that enhance the home’s natural light and open spaces. The craftsmanship involved in maintaining the original woodwork was paramount; we ensured that the detailed moldings and unique paint finishes were preserved and highlighted, creating a harmonious balance between the old and the new. In the common areas, we opted for airy textiles in the upholstery and drapery, fostering a casual yet sophisticated environment.
