About This Project

The Wine and Rec Room Remodel project, executed by Morse Remodeling Inc. and Custom Homes, transformed a previously segmented space into an inviting area perfect for both relaxing and entertaining. By removing the wall that separated the billiards room from the dining room, we successfully created a more open and user-friendly environment. This innovative design not only enhances the flow between the two areas but also allows for a seamless transition to the adjacent living room and kitchen, which can be conveniently closed off with elegant glass pocket doors. The craftsmanship of the remodel is highlighted by the custom-designed beams that cantilever from two striking stone columns. These beams serve a dual purpose, acting as structural elements while also creating a visually appealing floating shelf system that beautifully displays an array of glass artwork. To accentuate the artwork and the character of the distressed Douglass Fir solid wood beams, low voltage LED accent lights have been meticulously integrated, providing a warm and inviting glow. Furthermore, the existing engineered wood flooring from the billiards room has been extended into the new wine tasting area, creating a cohesive look throughout the space. New low voltage accent lights were strategically installed to illuminate specific areas, enhancing the overall ambiance of the remodel. To add a touch of sophistication, Venetian plaster was applied to the back wall, providing a unique backdrop for the art wall and further enriching the aesthetic appeal of the room. In this project, every detail was thoughtfully considered, from the materials selected to the overall design choices, resulting in a contemporary wine and rec room that is not only functional but also a stunning focal point for social gatherings. The outcome is a beautifully remodeled space that invites both relaxation and entertainment, making it a perfect addition to any home in Sacramento, CA.
