Nestled in the breathtaking landscape of West Dover, VT, "A Room With A View" project redefines the traditional concept of a ski house kitchen by embracing the stunning natural surroundings. Upon arrival, it was evident that the original layout required a bold transformation to capitalize on the magnificent mountain vistas. The homeowner's decision to remove all first-story interior walls opened up the space, presenting a unique challenge: how to incorporate professional-grade appliances, including an IL FORNO wood-burning pizza oven, into a seamless design that prioritizes both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The design process was deeply inspired by the home’s existing architectural elements, particularly the impressive two-story stone fireplace and the rugged rustic support beams that characterize the structure. These features served as the foundation for a cohesive theme that harmonizes the interior with the exterior landscape. The kitchen area was meticulously crafted to enhance the open concept, creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages relaxation and social interaction. A striking central bar was constructed using the same natural stone as the fireplace, which not only serves as a functional space for entertaining but also visually ties the kitchen together. The bar's back wall and backsplash were designed to reflect the beauty of the surrounding environment, while cabinetry was selected to complement the rustic charm of the beams, featuring warm wood tones and a blend of modern and traditional finishes. The result is a fully functional kitchen that does not compromise on style or comfort. It boasts ample storage solutions strategically integrated to maintain the open feel of the space while accommodating the owner's culinary needs. The overall craftsmanship showcases a blend of traditional and contemporary elements, making "A Room With A View" not just a kitchen but a vibrant gathering place that celebrates both culinary creativity and the breathtaking views that inspired its design.
