Combining in a respectful way outdoor and indoor spaces, The Lower Cape Farm House was born. The property was transformed by our team through the introduction of native plant species, allowing for a stunning landscape while limiting water inputs. They carefully planned a series of connected garden beds with colourful perennials, ornamental grasses, and a few trees to provide shade and break up the large expanse of concrete. Natural stone pathways and walls contribute not only hardscape, but also cohesion to the relationship between house and land. A unique hardship was the topography, which necessitated grading innovation to produce a level and functional outdoor terrace while simultaneously preserving the site as-found contours. CBA Landscape Architects overcame this challenge using responsible methods to protect the natural vegetation while making the site more visually pleasing. The end product is a beautiful hidden outdoor paradise that our clients will enjoy for years to come with all the people they invite to fill the space. A resort-style, custom-built patio with built-in seating and a fire pit is great for entertaining and the lush gardens invite relaxation.
