Modern Home in Boca Raton Florida by Krent Wieland Design, Inc. Located in Boca Raton, Florida, this residential landscape by Krent Wieland Design, Inc. is a combination of modern style and intentionality. Our ultimate goal was to develop an aesthetically pleasing and functional outdoor space. Our team worked to create a landscape that is complementary to the modern style of the home. The landscape was predominately made up of Florida native plants for their hardiness and beauty, showcasing color all year long with low water use. Inviting roadways were made from local coral stone, promoting a natural feeling into the home with the right touch of modernism with the residence's similar lines. We also incorporated a custom water feature to appeal to the eyes and calm the sounds of the outside, while adding peacefulness to the area. One hurdle we faced was figuring out how to deal with the unique topography of the lot as it did not direct water runoff, which would cause pooling and hinder irrigation. Not to mention, we needed to involve an entire process to ensure that irrigation would be efficient in the Florida tropical environment. Our team utilized the latest methods, such as installing a French drain system, to properly control water runoff to keep the landscape lively. The final outcome was an exceptional landscape that allows for a blend of form and function. There are flourishing plants, outdoor lighting in all the right places, and outdoor seating to enjoy the yard fully. The happy homeowners are now able to enjoy a robust outdoor living space that works for them and complements their lifestyle and, in turn, increases the overall value of their home.
