The design process began with a thorough site evaluation and list of site specific challenges such as soil conditions and selections of drought tolerant plants. We selected high quality materials including locally sourced coral stone, and sustainable hardwoods that would last long and had low impact to the region. The pallete was a refined assortment of bold tropical plants, including native palms, bougainvillea, and fragrant jasmine to create a respite in the warm micro climate, yet still feeling a part of the indigenous environment. Significantly, there was the glistening water feature that created a focal point as you enter the backyard. The running water created a peaceful sound of water flowing while also creating a cooling effect on hot months. The challenge for Krent Wieland Design, Inc. was finding the correct area to integrate the water feature within the landscape that met the landscaping elements surrounding this feature gaining confidence from the nature of water as habitat. The design generated an outdoor living space to relax and entertain, with an expansive patio and furniture built for the outdoors, of substances to resist rain events and moisture. The design embodied great detail and spectacular creativity with a tip to add a fire pit! Irrigation planned and built to conserve water not just maintain the potential lush appearance and liveliness of the gardens, while showcasing how Krent Wieland Design, Inc. works towards environmental sustanability. At completion the client and client's family were ecstatic with their new outdoor space and referring to it a paradise!
