About This Project

The Artistic Teen project, located in Minnetonka, MN, was conceived in 2016 with the dual purpose of creating a vibrant and functional space for a teenage girl to seamlessly blend her social and academic life. The primary challenge was to design a room that not only accommodated her need for relaxation and study but also fostered a welcoming environment for friends. The solution emerged as a thoughtfully crafted custom full-size daybed, which serves as both a stylish centerpiece and an efficient use of space. In executing this vision, the design incorporated a playful yet sophisticated color palette, complemented by an array of colorful pillows that add a touch of personality and warmth to the room. These design choices were critical in transforming the space into a cozy retreat, where comfort meets style. The selection of materials was equally important; soft fabrics were chosen for the bedding and pillows to ensure both aesthetic appeal and comfort, while durable finishes were applied to withstand the everyday wear and tear of a busy teen's life. In addition to the daybed, a full-size desk and chair were integrated into the design, providing an ideal workspace for studying and reading. This functional area was designed with ergonomics in mind, ensuring that it not only met the practical needs of homework and projects but also inspired creativity and focus. The craftsmanship involved in assembling these components was meticulous, ensuring that every detail aligned with the overall vision of the room. The outcome of the Artistic Teen project is a beautifully balanced space that harmoniously combines leisure and productivity. It is a testament to the power of thoughtful design and craftsmanship, resulting in a bedroom that reflects the personality of its occupant while providing an inviting environment for socializing and study.
