About This Project

The Winter Planters (by Pickel Landscape Group) Just recently, Pickel Landscape Group completed the new Winter Planters in Landenberg, designed to elevate the snowy landscape. We created remarkable winter planters that emphasize the aesthetic quality of winter while meeting function with durability, using materials that can withstand winter. The planters displayed tough evergreens, ornamental grasses, and bright winter flowers in custom, cedar planter boxes. Cedar was chosen not just for its durability, but for its smooth, natural color which added complimentary tones to the surrounding vista. The challenge was to balance functional design and seasonal aesthetic, while using plants that are tolerant of cold winters and have visual appeal. We also had to consider structure and access, particularly at the installation site, where some limited access had to be figured out prior to ensuring proper plant placement as to beautifully face the sunlight. After all boundaries were taken into consideration we were able to successfully create the site into a true winter landscape. The final results were remarkable winter planters that provided charming beauty to the property for our clients, neighbors of the family, and guests.
