We recently completed an entire landscape in downtown San Mateo, demonstrating our high standards of quality and attention to detail. This involved a complete redesign of a residential backyard and had its own unique challenges. The property had uneven to sloped ground with limited sun exposure for traditional plantings. Our professionals completed extensive grading, while also integrating advanced drainage systems to achieve proper drainage to avoid water pooling. We gave careful thought to the selection of the plant palette. Shortly after completion, we learned that the variety of native plants were flourishing, thriving in the local climate, and attracting pollinators to promote biodiversity. The central feature of terraced design of the landscape was a custom pergola made of sustainably cedars, which provided a shaded gathering area for family and friends to meet. Along with the pergola, we created flagstone paths that led a peaceful meditation area, containing a water feature that added soothing sounds to the space. To ensure beauty during every season, we planted seasonal flowering plants for color, and planted evergreen shrubs that provided privacy, shape, and interest visually all year long. We incorporated top quality soil amendments and eco-friendly fertilizers for healthy plant growth. We also installed drip irrigation lines to increase water efficiency. The overall result was stunning! The client was glad with their outdoor oasis, providing space for them to relax and entertain.
