Location: Northville, Mich. A mix of tropical plants, ornamental grasses and perennials provide a lush experience in this colorful garden. Using quality and sustainable materials, permeable pavers for pathways along with a modern wooden deck are incorporated into the design to serve as practical transitional spaces while also connecting the home to nature. The elevation of the site and where the property drained were one of the unique challenges for this . These challenges were met by our experienced team through the planning of graded terraces and an automatic irrigation system that controlled water flow while at the same time efficiently requiring less maintenance. This includes native plants and the installation of rain gardens that are environmentally friendly, which also adds to the landscape and attracts wildlife. The end product is an elegant outdoor retreat that defines modern design thinking with a true indoor/outdoor relationship between the space and the site. Large seating areas and a custom fire pit provide expansive space for relaxing and entertaining family and friends.
