Kinzell-Tarrytown Initiative

The Kinzell-Tarrytown project in Austin, TX, showcases a comprehensive roof remodel that marries functionality with modern aesthetics. The original design underwent significant transformations, particularly in enhancing natural light within the home. By eliminating the master bath window, we strategically introduced a Velux Solar Powered Skylight, equipped with a remote control feature, allowing for effortless adjustment and optimizing daylight throughout the space. This innovative addition not only brightens the master bath but also contributes to energy efficiency, aligning with contemporary sustainable building practices. Further enriching the home’s illumination, we installed five Velux Sun Tunnels, strategically positioned to enhance various living areas. These tunnels not only flood the interiors with natural light but also create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Complementing the skylights and sun tunnels, additional perimeter venting was incorporated into the soffits, ensuring optimal airflow and temperature regulation within the attic space. The crowning feature of this remodel is the installation of a Kynar Coated Standing Seam Metal Roof. This durable roofing solution not only provides superior protection against the elements but also adds a sleek, modern touch to the home's exteri. The hidden attic vents and ridge vents work in harmony with the new roofing system to improve ventilation, contributing to the longevity and performance of the structure. In addition to the roofing work, we undertook essential repairs to the chimney, including the installation of a new chimney cap, which enhances both safety and aesthetics. The project concluded with the installation of new gutters featuring solid tops, designed to manage water flow effectively while maintaining the elegant exterior lines of the house. The Kinzell-Tarrytown project not only revitalized the home’s exterior but also significantly enhanced its energy efficiency and comfort, demonstrating a successful blend of traditional design and modern technology.
