The Mid-Century Twist project in Tampa, FL, exemplifies a harmonious blend of existing aesthetics with fresh, vibrant design elements. This home already boasted an impressive collection of furniture and accessories, yet it yearned for an additional layer of texture and detail to elevate its charm. Our approach was to draw inspiration from the vibrant hues of the area rugs, particularly emphasizing orange accents that infuse warmth and energy into the living spaces. To create a focal point in the heart of the home, we installed a horizontal wood-clad wall behind the fireplace, enhanced by the homeowners' favorite art piece, which serves as a stunning visual anch. The transformation continued in the dining area, where we replaced a traditional red and green rug with a contemporary piece that mirrors the family room’s design. This seamless transition was complemented by the addition of matching pendant lighting overhead, which not only illuminates but also enhances the overall aesthetic coherence. Floating shelves were strategically added to both sides of the fireplace, providing an elegant platform to showcase the homeowners' cherished collectibles. This design choice not only maximizes visual interest but also personalizes the space, allowing for a unique expression of their style. To further accentuate the mid-century modern flair, we introduced a swoop lamp alongside a striking orange chair and ottoman, which injects a bold splash of color while respecting the era’s iconic design elements. Throughout this project, our commitment to craftsmanship is evident in every detail, from the careful selection of materials to the thoughtful arrangement of each piece. The outcome is a beautifully cohesive home that celebrates mid-century design while reflecting the homeowners’ personality and lifestyle. This project, completed in 2016 with a budget range of $75,001 to $100,000, stands as a testament to the transformative power of design, making it a timeless space for both relaxation and entertainment.
