About This Project

Estate at Las Alturas Located in the scenic hills of Montecito, the 'Estate at Las Alturas' is a striking landscape design choreographed by Lane Goodkind Landscape Architect. This transformative is a testament to our quality of life and art, serving the charming communities of Goleta, Mission Canyon, Montecito, and Santa Barbara. This features a harmonious mix of native California plants and carefully curated exotic plants that create a colorful and vibrant tapestry to enhance the natural surroundings of the estate. Using sustainable materials, we used stone sourced nearby, for pathways and terraces, allowing the landscape to fully integrate into the surroundings. Through thoughtful planting of drought tolerant plants, we created a landscape that uses less water as well as provides seasonal color and texture year-round. One of the main challenges of the estate was the steep slope of the property. In response, we designed a series of terraced gardens that added intimate spaces for relaxation and entertainment, but also addressed the concerns of erosion. We designed a customized irrigation system that was tailored to the varying microclimates of the property allowing for every plant to thrive. A beautiful infinity pool is the focal point of the landscape, surrounded by lush, green plantings and stunning vistas of the Santa Barbara coastline. The pool area is a peaceful oasis, partly due to the natural wood deck that surrounds the pool and integrates into the architectural style of the estate. The final result is a stunning and beautiful landscape that makes the client proud of its beauty, functionality and sustainability. 'Estate at Las Alturas' is a beautiful example of the strong commitment by Lane Goodkind Landscape Architect to create and enhance landscapes that also maintains a solid connection with our natural environment.
