Garden Plantings by Graham Stanley and Associates In the Los Angeles region, the Garden Plantings showcased the talents of Graham Stanley and Associates in their transformation of an otherwise ordinary outdoor space into a subtropical paradise reflective of the desired aesthetic in relation to the local climate, including neighborhoods such as Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and Laguna Beach. The heavily incorporated native plant selections, as well as drought tolerant landscaping, that would sustain the concept of enhancing the natural beauty of the site. The firm selected locally sourced stone pathways, weather-resistant timber for the raised garden beds, and decorative boulders that married the entire design together. One of the challenges of the site was the slope, and Graham Stanley and Associates employed terracing elements, addressing soil erosion and optimizing usable space. The terracing approach allowed for an attractive garden layout that provided effective visual variety while adding practical depth to the garden.
