Shorewood Residence Niwa Design Studio is delighted to introduce the Shorewood Residence, a combined landscape architecture that successfully integrates function and form in the calming aesthetic of Japanese garden design. Located in a peaceful neighborhood, this emphasizes our commitment to quality and craftsmanship in residential applications that consider the local context. The overall landscape design creates a medley of elements, including a beautiful koi pond, patterned stone pathways, and lush plantings that inspire peace and balance. The use of natural materials, particularly locally sourced river stone and sustainably harvested wood, reinforce the seamless relationship between the home and its surroundings. The pond planted with colorful aquatic plants that flow gently adds a focal point of serenity and contemplation. One of the fundamental challenges for this was the change in elevation across the site. Our design team skillfully dealt with this topographical problem by constructing tiered levels that added visual interest and established proper drainage. This drainage solution allowed us to establish a design solution to manage potential flooding of the yard while simultaneously adding depth and dimension. The end product is a wonderful outdoor retreat that happily exceeded the clients' expectations. Their yard is now a tranquil escape as the yard serves both their home, and means of celebrating their appreciation of nature and Japanese aesthetics. The property continues to flourish with ongoing maintenance from Niwa Design Studio and the Shorewood Residence is a showcase of a quality and tranquil landscape.
