The Telluride Ranch Project encompasses the transformation of over 800 acres within the breathtaking Lizard Head Wilderness Ranch, a multi-year endeavor that highlights both historical preservation and modern living. The initial phase focused on the careful relocation and reclamation of three cabins of significant historical value, ensuring their stories and heritage were honored within the landscape. This was complemented by the design and construction of a new ranch manager's house, which harmonizes with the natural surroundings and embodies rustic elegance. An impressive attached seven-car barn, featuring living quarters above, was also constructed, alongside two additional agricultural barns designated for machinery and hay storage. These structures were meticulously designed to reflect the area's character while providing functional spaces for ranch operations. The existing house on the property underwent thoughtful remodeling, enhancing its charm and livability. Surrounding the remodeled residence, the landscape received a remarkable upgrade, transforming the outdoor environment into a picturesque retreat. This included the creation of serene ponds and meandering rivers, alongside beautifully designed patio areas that invite relaxation and enjoyment of the stunning vistas. Hundreds of lichen-covered boulders were selected and strategically placed throughout the grounds, often utilizing a crane due to their size, adding a dramatic and natural element to the landscape. The craftsmanship involved in this project is evident in every detail, from the rustic aesthetic of the buildings to the harmonious integration of the landscape features. The end result is not just a functional ranch but a stunning extension of nature that enhances the beauty of the Telluride area.
