Last fall, Small Wonders Landscape & Design, LLC was hired to create a new landscape for a client (let's call him John) residing in a Popular City neighborhood. The neighborhood is located east of the university and has homes with a wide variety of style and quality of construction. John desired hard and soft landscaping for his home, remembering all the hard work he had put into his home and its appeal over the past year. John is a single father of three children, and the combined family liked the idea of making the front yard more functional with landscaping. John and I discussed gardens along the walkway, focal points in the yard, and planting a space for enjoying flowers every spring and summer. The site was visited. Among discussing the front yard ideas, we also talked growing vegetable gardens in the back yard for the children to grow their own vegetables. John desires a pathway or walkway throughout the house with a transition to the street. The goal is for it to not feel stagnant upon arrival, while at the same time maintain the character, appearance, and value of his investment. At the same time, it would encourage family engagement and involvement, such as BBQs for his friends and family. John understands the existing drainage issues that are not currently withstanding with his existing plant and established lawn areas. It also has construction debris that he would like to remove, all while disrupting his children's activities. The Phase 1 concept and the work plan being submitted, aims to remain within John and his family's engagement and buildability of landscaping and landscape maintenance. This is an example of a that produced an initial landscaping result that met personal and financial engagement without having the linger beyond the conclusion of a plan. If you were to see John and his family engage all designed aspects of the landscape, from play to preparatory cultivation, the smiles would undoubtedly generate and create experiences of their family time together. A greater goal of building a paths from the existing patio/side path into the front yard with a plot garden for his children to create - - for our Phase 1 is the variable of the soil with whatever "organics" is used in conceptualizing soil would grow - 1) for visuals with what John and his family created, and 2) satisfaction at knowing he would receive fruit and vegetables in the future. Because of the personal and professional efforts of my craftsmanship and work, I maintained cultural competency from planning, orders, installing, and requesting feedback at various decisions I made while soil and plants were being used. What else would we do if other areas of remediation haven't been addressed for planting that I used in having a landscape approach to native and mulched areas, creating a balanced level, while at the end addressing play areas, and specific research N of healthy and consistent gardening practices. The experiences of John and his family are layered. First, the area beautified, not congested with plenty of pathways for play without the anxiety of crossings. Layers would permit individuals to think, lay down, and and enjoy one another again, while sitting in capsulized experiences by feeling safe and planting healthy food. What we prioritize is watching someone's life experience evolve and include other lives for healthy perception, our landscape plans also become landscapes, and this particular 's landscape will experience gardens and memories for John's children. John lived within a stage in the life of his children; this still grows for communities, in anticipation of spaces beyond quotes, pathways, and other ideas we've had during initial evaluations on site when the sawdust whole site features were under the steps us the width of the essentially empty bed.
