Greer Ranch Guard House, Murrieta CA Landscaping for the Greer Ranch Guard House | Architerra Design Group Architerra Design Group has recently completed a premiere landscape for Greer Ranch guard house in Murrieta California. The hardscape (wait, don't leave yet!) includes stone paths and an entry plaza that never look at-bay but rather natural and serene, surrounded by honestead in hearty, drought-tolerant plantings. The challenge for our team was to embed the guard house in the landform to be as natural as possible whilst still allowing it to be a feature of the garden. In order to do this, we chose to make use of great materials that are from the local area, for example, stone fabrics and wood finishes that can add some glamour to the design along with working to complement the surrounding area. Native plants enliven the year, offering colorful splendor while requiring the minimum of a climate appropriate water regime in turn assisting local biodiversity. We designed a terraced landscape to work with the topography of the site which offers dimension and character and improves the overall movement of the space. At the end, there is a balance between hardscape and softscape, where ornamental grasses, perennials, and several trees are ultimately planted to provide shaded areas to sit and relax. Today, the Greer Ranch Guard House is a symbol of quality construction and design contributing to the sophistication of this entrance while also offering an inviting first impression to the rest of the community.
