The project began with the transformation of a salvaged unfinished pine door, which was purchased for a mere $10. The client skillfully removed the broken glass and trim, then stained and finished the door to restore its natural beauty. With Basco's commitment to custom solutions, a tailored piece of glass was crafted to perfectly fit the shower, enhancing the overall design while ensuring durability and style. Natural light and ventilation were prioritized in this project through the installation of a Velux Fresh Air skylight, which not only illuminates the master bath but also connects the adjacent water closet with a refreshing ambiance. The glazing pattern on the shower door adds a unique touch, reminiscent of autumn leaves, creating a serene atmosphere that complements the rustic elegance of the overall space. The master bath is thoughtfully designed to maximize access to plumbing and functionality, featuring two lavatories and a hall access providing a vessel sink atop an altered dresser. The integration of five-panel Southern yellow pine doors, salvaged and refinished, adds character to the space while being complemented by modern pocket door hardware. This combination of old and new elements creates a timeless yet contemporary feel. Moreover, the individual vanity mirrors were replaced with a striking full-width teak-framed mirror, enhancing the visual depth and sophistication of the room. The master bath seamlessly flows into the adjacent walk-in closet and connects directly to the master bedroom, promoting a cohesive living experience. Developed by Annette McCleery Building Design, the comprehensive floor plan and interior elevations reflect a careful consideration of both aesthetics and utility, ensuring that every element is perfectly positioned for comfort and accessibility.
