About This Project

Green Thumb Garden Center Green Thumb is excited to introduce the 'Green Thumb Garden Center' renovation to our Bluffton and Hilton Head Island community. This is a testament to the craftsmanship and design we pride ourselves on and was executed to match the client's vision. The goal of the was to have a native planting palette to utilize plants that survive well in the elements of this region - resilient and beautiful plants. This palette included an expansive seasonal flower selection with abundant color and textural features. The garden also incorporated a variety of beautiful ornamental grasses and shrubs to maintain year-round interest. We sought to use sustainable and eco-friendly materials wherever possible and sourced stone from a local quarry for the pathways and built custom raised garden beds. A significant challenge was the varying soil conditions throughout the site. Our team completed soil testing across the area to determine if soil amendments were necessary, creating the right growing conditions. We created a water efficient irrigation system wherein only the limits of spec'd watering were moved to one zone for control. We felt this was a sustainable strategy to provide food and be eco-friendly, while ensuring the plants established and thrived in this location. The resulting is a beautiful garden center that adds beauty and function to the property and opportunity for community interaction. The client was very happy with the , complimenting our attention to detail, being astute with the earth elements. The carries the message of a successful design opportunity, being right in step with the vision that was a thought, redone beautifully into reality. The 'Green Thumb Garden Center' is an experience that connects with the culture and beauty of Bluffton and Hilton Head Island.
