The Cunningham Project, located in Lubbock, TX, showcases a stunning Colorado-style xeriscape designed to enhance the natural beauty of the landscape while promoting water conservation. Initiated in 2015, this project involved a comprehensive redesign of the outdoor space, addressing previous issues caused by the inadequate installation of weed fabric sourced from common retail outlets. The original fabric allowed unsightly grass to grow through the rock layer, detracting from the intended aesthetic of the xeriscape. To rectify this, we opted for high-quality materials from Texas Rock and Flagstone, ensuring superior durability and visual appeal. The project scope included the careful removal of the existing weed fabric and the installation of a more effective landscape barrier designed to prevent weed growth while facilitating proper drainage. Our team meticulously selected a variety of native stones and flagstone to create a harmonious and inviting environment. The layout emphasizes natural contours and textures, enhancing the overall design and functionality of the space. Craftsmanship played a pivotal role in this project, with skilled artisans hand-selecting each piece of stone and strategically placing them to achieve a balanced look. The use of drought-resistant plants and native flora complements the stonework, providing visual interest throughout the seasons while minimizing water usage.
