This custom pantry and new kitchen project, completed in Columbia, MO in 2016, exemplifies the perfect blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal. The design process began with a vision to transform a closed-off kitchen into an inviting, open space that seamlessly integrates with the family room. To achieve this, the existing wall and base cabinets were removed, and the doorway between the two areas was enlarged, creating a fluid transition that enhances both light and movement. The cabinetry is a striking feature of the kitchen, featuring pristine white painted finishes that exude a modern elegance. Complementing the cabinetry are the white glass subway tiles, which provide a classic yet contemporary backdrop, enhancing the overall brightness of the space. Light quartz countertops further elevate the aesthetic, offering a durable yet sophisticated surface for cooking and entertaining. A significant aspect of the renovation was the reconfiguration of the kitchen layout. The refrigerator was relocated to the same wall as the range, optimizing workflow and accessibility. To accommodate this change, a pocket door was repositioned, allowing for seamless movement without compromising space. This thoughtful approach to layout ensures that the kitchen is not only beautiful but also highly functional for daily use. An impressive floor-to-ceiling pantry was also integrated into the design, featuring soft-closing sliding doors with inset wavy glass, which adds a touch of elegance while maximizing storage capacity. Interior cabinet lighting and under-cabinet lighting were installed to enhance visibility and functionality, making it easier to prepare meals and entertain guests.
