The East Hampton Home represents a harmonious blend of modern design and rustic charm, resulting in a serene weekend retreat nestled in the woods. The project scope was centered around creating an inviting open-plan living space that seamlessly connects the foyer, living room, and dining area while maintaining a sense of privacy and comfort. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by an eclectic mix of design elements that evoke a sense of warmth and relaxation. The foyer features a striking checkerboard slate floor that lays the foundation for the aesthetic, complemented by a vintage poster that adds a touch of character. In this thoughtfully designed space, a contemporary bench and modern lighting fixtures juxtapose the traditional elements, reinforcing the home's unique character. Above, an oak and glass railed catwalk elegantly separates the foyer from the expansive living and dining area, allowing natural light to flow freely while maintaining an open feel. This innovative design choice not only enhances the visual appeal but also fosters a sense of connection among the spaces. To address the need for privacy in the guest bedroom hallway, a beautifully crafted curved oak and milk glass wall was installed.
