New Construction Organic Design/Install by Wanderback Design Wanderback Design is excited to share the completion of their most recent landscaping , "New Construction Organic Design/Install," which was pursued for a modern home in the lively neighborhood of North Dallas. Our goal was to develop an outdoor environment that combines the beauty of nature with modern architecture; and could be celebrated in aesthetics, as well as function for the homeowners. The started with a thorough site analysis that provided insights into sun movement, as well the soil types and existing plant material. After determining these points, we were able to incorporate native plants that are acclimated to the environment, ultimately making for lower maintenance and increased longevity of plant material. The plants in this design offered a strong combination of perennials, ornamental grasses and trees; the trees were used as a critical component to provide shade, as well as provide habitat that attracts birds and pollinators to the space ultimately adding to the biodiversity of the area. The design specifics involved using terraces to mitigate changes in elevation; for this, we utilized stone materials that were locally harvested (and) to fit our eco-friendly approach which we accompanied with an assortment of plants for aesthetics and prevention of soil erosion. We designed the pathways with reclaimed wood and re-usable materials that were also permeable for drainage, satisfying the rustic theme of the while further showcasing an organic landscape. We developed an outdoor seating area complete with room for a fire pit and plant material indigenous to the area to further emphasize conversation and personal connections against the backdrop of natural greenery. A highlight of the was a naturalistic pond that blended seamlessly with the area and created a focal point for the space. This pond features aquatic plants and a waterfall, which not only adds visual texture to the landscape and ambiance with sound, but is a place for wildlife attraction. After the work was completed, the client was ecstatic! Their space was transformed from what felt like a desolate yard into an enticing and engaging outdoor oasis, while still adhering to an organic theme using sustainable materials As a design group, Wanderback Design exceeded expectations and offered quality organic elements into a design that harmoniously blends the environments and uniquely enhances the home to reflect the homeowners desires.
