About This Project

The French Kitchen project represents a remarkable transformation of a formerly underutilized living area into a stunning shabby chic kitchen that embodies the charm and elegance of French design. As part of a comprehensive whole house remodel initiated in 2015, this space was reimagined to serve as the heart of the home, seamlessly blending functionality with aesthetic appeal. The design philosophy centered around a clean, white color palette that enhances the kitchen's openness and brightness, ensuring a warm and inviting atmosphere. Central to the kitchen's design is the incorporation of open shelving, which not only provides practical storage but also allows for the display of beautiful cookware and decorative items, further enhancing the space's rustic charm. The client's unique input was instrumental in shaping the kitchen's character; notably, the large iron wheels they provided were creatively repurposed as a striking ceiling feature. These wheels serve a dual purpose, elegantly holding pots and pans while also supporting thoughtfully designed pendant lighting that adds a warm glow to the space. Another standout feature of The French Kitchen is the rustic fireplace, located opposite the main kitchen area. This fireplace was remodeled with a reclaimed wood surround, meticulously chosen to complement the overall rustic style of the kitchen. The warmth of the wood not only adds a touch of authenticity but also enhances the cozy ambiance that one would expect in a French-inspired kitchen. Craftsmanship played a crucial role in the execution of this project, as skilled artisans worked diligently to ensure that every detail was perfectly aligned with the client's vision. The outcome is a harmonious blend of rustic and chic elements, resulting in a kitchen that is not only functional for everyday cooking but also serves as a gathering place for family and friends.
