About This Project

The Nakoma Cottage project involved the transformation of a charming 1926 Tudor home situated in the picturesque Nakoma neighborhood. Initially, this charming residence struggled to attract buyers after the previous owners vacated, as the floor plan presented unique challenges with its somewhat choppy layout and unclear room functions. However, its inherent beauty and character were evident in features such as the original lighting fixtures, arched doorways, hardwood floors, and four sets of French doors that opened gracefully to the backyard, promising a delightful view. Our team undertook the task of staging the home to showcase its best attributes, choosing design elements that complemented the Tudor style while enhancing the functionality of each space. By thoughtfully arranging furniture and selecting decor that highlighted the home's vintage charm, we created an inviting atmosphere that encouraged potential buyers to envision themselves living in the space. The staging focused on presenting each room with a clear purpose, allowing the unique architectural elements to shine without distraction. In the bathroom, for instance, we opted for transitional decor that blended modern sensibilities with the home’s classic features. By incorporating soft color palettes and strategically placed accessories, we transformed the bathroom into a serene retreat that appealed to contemporary buyers while respecting the home’s historical essence. The results were striking. Within just two weeks of staging, the owners received and accepted an offer, a testament to the effective design choices and meticulous craftsmanship that brought the Nakoma Cottage back to life.
