This landscape design located in beautiful Laguna Beach demonstrates the use of a diverse mix of California native plants, chosen to work with the local climate and soils (to reduce irrigation needs). Our initial kickoff involved a thorough site analysis and identifying the inherent difficulties that a coastal climate presents, ly, poor soil quality and salt exposure. Our team carefully selected native species, such as California lilac, sage, and manzanita, perfectly adapted to these conditions while supporting local pollinators and wildlife and encouraging biodiversity. We introduced different types of natural materials including decomposed granite pathways, locally sourced boulders, caring to maintain the natural context of the land. They are also functional materials that give it beauty and help with drainage and erosion. Site access was limited and a lot of care to protect trees and plants already there. Using the planned tactical approach and innovative methods, our trained team managed to overcome the challenge without disturbing the nature of the landscape. The endzoned product is a gorgeously gorgeous native plant garden that provides a restorative escape for the homeowners and very good habitat for biodiversity. This approach naturally beautifies the property while supporting sustainable landscaping techniques, yielding a low-maintenance, environmentally-friendly solution in keeping with natural plant communities that our clients can enjoy year-round.
