The Custom Deck project located in Fairbanks, IN, exemplifies the perfect blend of functionality and modern design. The foundation of this deck features robust 2" x 8" treated floor joists installed on 12" centers, providing a solid substructure that can comfortably support the weight of Trex decking along with the presence of multiple guests during outdoor events. To enhance the structural integrity, a center floor beam was strategically placed under the midspan of the deck, effectively splitting the 16' span and ensuring stability. The end of the two-ply LVL (laminated veneer lumber) beam is visible just beneath the center of the deck, a testament to the careful engineering involved in the project.
