At the foot of the iconic Manhattan Beach Pier, Rock’N Fish has transformed its outdoor dining experience by incorporating the innovative Infinity Canopy. This project aimed to provide effective shade for a challenging area of the patio that was frequently exposed to the sun, enhancing comfort for patrons enjoying their delicious food and stunning ocean views. The choice of Infinity Canopy was driven by its versatility and adaptability, which were essential in overcoming the unique architectural constraints of the space. To accommodate the vertical clearance limitations, the design required a bespoke solution. Instead of the standard ten panels, a total of 21 custom panels were crafted, each panel being half the typical length. This meticulous attention to detail ensured that the canopy would fit seamlessly between the multiple crossing beams of the patio. The design also featured an intelligent connection of three sections of the canopy using magnetic latches, allowing for a smooth and functional retractable shade system. This resulted in an elegant 5'x18' shade that could easily be adjusted according to the sun’s position, providing optimal comfort throughout the day. The craftsmanship involved in this project highlights the quality and functionality of the Infinity Canopy system.
