The Outsider by InSite Landscape Design The team at InSite Landscape Design is proud to unveil "The Outsider" a that captures the natural beauty and unique character of the landscape it inhabits. The was located in Milwaukee's urban core, and the objective was to imbue the property with an inviting outdoor retreat that felt successful in its integration with the current landscape while achieving functional and aesthetic pleasantness. This was a full renovation of the front and backyard of a charming residential property. It included a beautiful natural stone path, made of local limestone, that led visitors through lush gardens of native plants. Not only does the landscaping beautify the property, but it enhances biodiversity by engaging local wildlife to live in a sustainable habitat. One important challenge that our team encountered as we developed the landscape was the unevenness of the terrain with poor water drainage that potentially hampered the integrity of the landscaping. This is when InSite Landscape Design implemented an innovative drainage system to effectively disperse the functional and aesthetic water while protecting the lush plantings from heavy water accumulation. Furthermore, we implemented raised garden boxes built using reclaimed wood to not only enhance rusticism but promote sustainable gardening. The outdoor living space was enhanced with a custom fire pit using natural boulders surrounding the fire pit as an inviting gathering space for family and friends. Our staff also placed evergreen shrubs and seasonal flowers so that the outdoor space could be enjoyed year-round, as it continued to develop and change throughout the seasons. The attention to detail and quality accelerated our incredible transformation that excited our clients. "The Outsider" now serves as an escape for clients to enjoy and experience nature while depicting the unique character of Bayside. Insite Landscape Design continues to strive for every to match the integrity of high quality outdoor spaces which match function, beauty, and sustainability.
