Hightstown Kitchen Expansion

The Hightstown Kitchen Addition project transformed the rear of the home into a spacious and functional living area, enhancing both the kitchen and the master suite. By meticulously tearing down the original two-story section, the project expanded the footprint by an impressive five feet while incorporating the space of a side porch. This strategic redesign allowed for a larger kitchen on the first floor, equipped with modern amenities and abundant space, as well as a more generous master bedroom and bathroom on the second flo. Central to the design was the replacement of a twisting narrow secondary stair with a straight run stair, significantly improving safety and accessibility. This new stair configuration created a seamless opening at the bottom landing, linking the dining room and kitchen, which enhances the overall flow of the home. The craftsmanship extended to the framing of the second floor, utilizing larger structural beams wrapped in rustic stained wood. Complementing these beams are smaller 6" floor joists, which not only support the taller ceilings but also ensure that the second floor aligns perfectly with the existing portions of the house. Attention to detail is evident throughout the project, including custom-made metal straps crafted by the contractor, enhancing both structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. The kitchen is a showcase of transitional design, featuring rich dark wood flooring and a stunning Cambria Quartz backsplash that serves as a focal point. The design includes flat-panel cabinets with a distressed finish, quartz countertops, and a combination of glass tile and multicolored backsplash that adds texture and visual interest. Stainless steel appliances and two functional islands complete the kitchen, making it an inviting space for cooking and entertaining. The Hightstown Kitchen Addition not only elevates the home's functionality but also enhances its aesthetic charm, creating a harmonious blend of modern convenience and traditional elegance.
