Located in the heart of Oakland County, MI, Mike's Clean Cut Landscaping, Inc. would like to share our most recent we are calling the 'Pillars' which completely transformed the backyard to one of elegance for our client in Birmingham, MI. This was an extensive , blending natural aspects in with general architecture in order to build an outdoor living space that fits with the rest of the home. Two beautiful stone pillars were at the heart of the 'Pillars' , forming an impressive entrance for the clients garden out of local natural limestone. They were functional, since they needed to withstand Michigan seasons, and yet they were also elegant and beautiful, which showcases one of our specialties; the combination of style with durability. The care taken with the stonework accentuated the variations in texture and colour of the limestone and it popped visually against the lush green world that enveloped it. We added a mix of perennial flowering flowers and ornamental grasses around the pillars to make them even more beautiful, that not only bloom during certain times of the year, but require minimal maintenance. These beautiful plants not only complemented the stone, and attracted local pollinators, but also contributed to an abundant ecosystem. The sites unique challenge was its slope grading, which bars free movement of run off water and leads to soil erosion. Our team designed and built tiered plant beds that will enhance the natural slope without obstructing the function of the space. These due consideration have also made a warm atmosphere which came from patio to garden area. The completed product was a stunning garden retreat that wowed our client! The bushy landscaping, durable pillars, and thoughtful drainage solutions improved the aesthetics of the property and gave a functional space for family gatherings and evening leisure.
