Dog Run area

Dog Run Area by Connelly Lawn and Garden, Inc. Connelly Lawn and Garden, Inc. recently took on a new to design and build a Dog Run area, utilizing an underused space and bringing a little pet paradise to our clients in Wyomissing, PA. Our goal was design an area that was functional and attractive, while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of their pet dogs. The first step of the was to take a site visit, where we assessed the best layout for the space while incorporating the necessary features. Our next challenge was to choose materials that were durable and pet-friendly, ultimately deciding on high-quality artificial turf for a soft clean surface for play without the mud or grass stains. The turf is easy to maintain and holds up to the wear and tear of dogs playing (or running) on it. Next, we installed a safe, sturdy fence to keep the dogs safely contained while running around. We chose a beautiful wood material that fit well into the natural surroundings, giving it an inviting feel. Finally, we incorporated a variety of landscaping features great for dogs to interact with, including native shrubs and decorative boulders which provided a shaded area and additional features. One of the challenges of the was working with the slope that the property possessed. To address the site, we graded the land to create a flatter playing area, which involved a significant amount of work and planning to ensure proper drainage. The result is a functional playable area which can be used and is not wet after a down pour. Once the was completed, it exceeded the expectations of our clients. They were ecstatic the changes and their dogs now have a safe environment to play, exercise and socialize. This will not only enrich the lives of their dogs but also provide a great outdoor space now and for the future.
