The Photo Framing project in East Lansing, MI, showcases a transformation that not only enhances the aesthetics of a space but also elevates the sentimental value of cherished memories. The client possessed a collection of photographs that represented significant moments in her life, yet the original frames were a disjointed mix of styles and qualities that detracted from the beauty of the images. Recognizing the need for a unified presentation, I embarked on a journey to create a gallery wall that would serve as a focal point in her home. To achieve a cohesive look, I carefully selected custom, acid-free mats that would preserve the integrity of the photographs while providing an elegant backdrop. The choice of black frames was intentional, as it not only complemented the various shades within the photographs but also offered a contemporary touch that harmonized with the overall décor of the client’s living space. Each frame was crafted with precision, ensuring that the photographs were securely held while enhancing their visual impact. The installation process involved meticulous planning and placement to create a balanced arrangement that draws the eye without overwhelming the room. I hung the gallery wall as well as individual pieces, thoughtfully considering the scale and positioning to maximize their presence.
