This started with an extensive consultation to understand exactly what the clients wanted in their backyard. In thinking of aesthetics as well as sustainability, we designed the garden to be a style and vibrant space that reflects and embraces the natural landscape. The design included native plants in varying colors of perennials and ornamental grasses that provide beauty but are also low maintenance and serve ecological benefits. To make the space more functional for the family, we also included a stone pathway leading to a seating area that would allow the family to enjoy evenings watching stars together. The path was created using local flagstone to create an organic feel in a natural setting. We constructed a custom water feature that invites local wildlife to the garden. The relaxing sound of the water feature adds to the sensory experience of the garden. One of the challenges we had to consider for the design was the uneven topography of the backyard. Our crew graded the land to ensure proper drainage and prevent ecosystems from eroding while also establishing tiered planting beds to create depth and interest in the design. This approach resolved the challenges of topography and created distinct planting areas making the garden very functional and aesthetically pleasing. The final result is a breathtaking backyard with a balance of beauty and function. After completion, our clients were thrilled with their new backyard, which is now an inviting space for family and friends to gather. The lush landscape, vibrant flowers, and relaxing sounds of water create a warm feeling found in lifestyle living to be experienced outdoors.
