Green Balance Landscaping Previous s Our portfolio not only helps showcase our work but our commitment to transforming outdoor spaces across the most dynamic communities in Acres Green, Applewood, Aurora and further. Our Past s section is one of our showcase s representing the quality and craft in your landscaping . This , located in Centennial had a large backyard that we were asked to revive, the homeowner was looking for an oasis that is also great for entertaining and relaxing. The initial phase of the transformation involved stripping the site of unseasonal components which had been cold ditemporarily, but importantly also needed to address drainage, a situation that proved challenging and required creative strategies to conjure the durability and function required. We designed and installed an all in one system consisting of a beautifully executed french drain that integrated in the landscape, intercepted water from infiltrating, and ultimately saved the structure from failure. We added a blend of hardscape and softscape to make it more pleasing to the eye. The patio, a stunning, multi-level creation made of locally harvested flagstone, provides durability and a natural look that meshes well with the surrounding environment. To create a separate gathering spot for family and friends, a custom-made fire pit was added, surrounded by comfortable space. So next we moved onto the garden beds themselves and chose a mix of native plants, shrubs, and ornamental grasses which do well in the area and are beneficial to local wildlife. Drip irrigation was set up to water the plants without wasting any water while taking care of the colourful plants. Finally, we added ambient LED lighting throughout the landscape to highlight the unique elements within the outdoor space and to create a warm, welcoming feel for evening entertaining. The end result was a stunning place to escape away to that functioned well but looked even better so to speak.
