The Sunny Fireplace project transformed a dated family room into a vibrant and inviting space that echoes the sunny disposition of its new owners. After moving from the warm embrace of Sunny Florida to the cooler climate of Yakima, WA, the clients sought to infuse their new home with the light and energy they cherished. The design team at 2112 Design Studio embraced this vision, creating a unique entertainment area tailored to reflect the owners' cheerful personality. The design process began with a comprehensive assessment of the existing space, which was limited by a traditional layout and an outdated fireplace. A strategic decision was made to remove the railing from the staircase, allowing for a harmonious wall against which a beautifully selected sofa could be positioned. This alteration not only enhanced the room’s flow but also contributed to a cozier atmosphere, perfect for family gatherings. The centerpiece of the new design is a stunning fireplace and mantel, meticulously crafted to serve as both a functional element and a striking focal point. Surrounding the fireplace, custom-made cabinets were designed to provide ample storage while maintaining the room’s aesthetic appeal. The materials chosen for the project reflected a blend of modern sophistication and warmth, ensuring that the space would be both stylish and inviting. Sofa and ottoman selections were carefully curated to complement the overall design, enhancing comfort and functionality.
