The Farmhouse Chique project, located in Wake Forest, NC, was initiated in 2016 with a budget ranging between $100,001 and $150,000, aimed at creating an inviting and functional space for entertaining friends and family. The homeowners envisioned a seamless connection between their kitchen and dining area, which led to the strategic removal of the wall that previously separated these two spaces. This transformation not only enhanced the flow of the home but also allowed for the closing off of the staircase leading from the upstairs, creating a more cohesive environment. A significant aspect of this remodel involved altering the dining room ceiling from a tray design to a flat configuration, further contributing to the open and airy feel of the new space. The integration of the kitchen and dining areas resulted in a lavish entertaining zone, ideal for gatherings and family celebrations. The design choices reflect a perfect blend of traditional farmhouse aesthetics with modern functionality. The perimeter cabinets from Showplace feature the Marquis door style in a soft white finish with a pewter glaze, complemented by Heirloom Gray countertops that add elegance and warmth. The contrasting island, crafted in smoky blue with the same Marquis door style, showcases Cosmos Venato countertops, creating a striking focal point. Thoughtfully, the microwave is incorporated into the island, minimizing clutter on the surfaces. A rustic alder barn door conceals the pantry, providing a nod to the farmhouse theme while serving a practical purpose. Adjacent to this, a magnetic chalkboard allows for the display of children’s artwork, adding a personal touch to the space. The porcelain enamel farm sink, paired with an oil-rubbed bronze faucet, enhances the rustic charm. This faucet harmonizes beautifully with the pot filler positioned behind the impressive Wolfe range, which stands out as the centerpiece of the kitchen. The custom Ventahood exhaust hood with copper accents further elevates the design, blending seamlessly with the subway glass tile backdrop. The addition of a large kitchen window floods the area with natural light, completing the inviting atmosphere of this exquisite farmhouse-inspired kitchen.
