Front Yard Landscape by Resource Landscapes LLC Resource Landscapes LLC is delighted to showcase the entitled 'Front Yard Landscape', constructed for a style-savvy client living in Covington, Louisiana. This demonstrates the value of quality, creativity, and client satisfaction in design. This new garden space serves the Covington area and the surrounding communities of Abita Springs, Bush, Claiborne, Folsom, Madisonville, Mandeville, Hammond, and Baton Rouge. The began with a site analysis to evaluate the front yard's existing condition: a sloped site with little sun exposure. While these can be seen as unfavorable attributes, the team embraced the sloped site as an opportunity in designing a tiered landscape for visual appeal and function for drainage purposes. A combination of native plants, ornamental grasses, and colorful flowering shrubs were purposefully selected to display beauty and survivability even in the chipiest of climates in southeastern Louisiana. To create an inviting entrance into the ribbon of a front yard, the team installed a meandering flagstone path that was surrounded plush ground cover. The pathway follows to arrive at the custom wooden arbor that will be intertwined with jasmine climbing vines that will bloom each year for both fragrance and character. Near the front porch is a beautiful water feature: a small pond with a gently rolling waterfall. Within the pond, the movement of the waterfall provides a relaxing feature as well as drawing in local wildlife. Finished execution of the design resulted in a balanced combination of purpose and beauty in the front yard creating a new space for the client to adopt another aspect of their home design: the front yard as a gathering space and further reflective their home style. The client was excited that this space would integrate and accent the hardscape and softscapes so there would always be visual interest and usable space throughout the year. The 'Front Yard Landscape' reflects the mission of Resource Landscapes LLC: quality construction, creativity, and sustainable landscaping.
