Seattle Landscape Transformation Spring 2017 In the lively heart of Seattle, Plumb Landscapes Inc. finished the 'Seattle Landscape Transformation Spring 2017' as a testament to our dedication to quality landscaping in Ballard, Beacon Hill, Bellevue, Bothell, Kirkland, Seattle, and Shoreline. The transformation was a major redesign of a residential outdoor space into a beautiful place of refuge melding with the lush Pacific Northwest environment. We began the by looking at the unique topography and vegetation on the property which presented exciting opportunity but also challenges. The site featured a steep slope and areas which received little to no sunlight creating interesting challenges in landscape development. Our designs involved using durable materials throughout the which included using 'native' stones acquired from down the road for the retaining walls and pathways. This choice gave the walls and hard surfaces strength and structure while enabling it to blend seamlessly with the surroundings. The included many incredible features like a stunning flagstone patio that acts as a focal point for gathering outdoors, along with a custom fire pit from reused materials. There was a focus on native plantings integration (ferns, salal and various flowering shrubs) to foster biodiversity and maintain low maintenance plantings. As with the rest of the we had an irrigation system designed to help maximize water usage in a regional climate in which their would be some interesting challenges with moisture. Like, any outdoor we faced weather constraints that delayed certain phases. We also considered additional drainage solutions for the issues of heavy rain common in Seattle. None of these challenges prevented us from delivering all of the aspects to our standard for quality. The final product was a stunning landscape which not only provided aesthetics and appeal to the property, but also provided functional outdoor space. The client now has a wonderful place to enjoy nature with the addition of surrounding trees, and places for sitting, relaxing and entertaining.
